Area Sales Manager - Kazakhstan


Area Sales Manager develops and implements a market-based strategy and collaborates with Business Units to create sustainable and profitable business growth. Employment is in the office in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Ensures business performance in a country meets total country demand orders. Acts as the local driver of demand growth, raising awareness and ensuring action is taken to maximize market opportunities. Develops the go-to-market strategy for the country and ensures Hitachi Energy value proposition for the target segments are well developed and communicated.
  • Area Sales Manager work focuses on a combination of general sales and marketing work including: Face-to-face and/or remote sales to new or existing customers. Assessing customer needs and suggesting appropriate products, services and/or solutions. Planning, developing, and delivering the marketing strategy for products/services and associated brand(s). Incumbents in this specialization may also provide customer service and support in the form of information on product/price and resolution to issues related to billing, shipping, delivery, complaints, etc. Incumbents matching to this specialization are compensated based on achievement of sales targets.
  • Develops relationships with key customers, channel partners and other decision makers, and drives the net promoter score (NPS) process to secure customer engagement and satisfaction. Identifies opportunities to develop business with existing customers and with potential new customers. Determines the plans and allocates resources accordingly.
  • Delivers agreed service levels through efficient business and support functions, as well as shared platforms. Leads staff in the Country towards high efficiency and effectiveness (speed, quality, service, and cost) and identifies locally feasible solutions for smoothly adjusting the workforce in accordance with economic cycles. Ensures full alignment of local performance management practices and compensation models with strategic priorities and provision of business-focused HR products and services.
  • Assures full compliance by all contractors with all applicable Hitachi Energy and legal regulations, including HSE and integrity. Takes accountability for risk management. Proactively ensures compliance to established Hitachi Energy risk management rules.
  • Ensures Hitachi Energy standards are met with regard to company values, health and safety, environment, security and integrity and acts as a personal role model for the organization.

Your Background:

  • Master’s degree / Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant with strong technical. Background and good track record with good understanding/experience of sales & marketing.
  • Solid leadership skills and ability to make decisions.
  • Solid influencing and networking skills.
  • Experience in business development, account management and cross-selling across systems, solutions, products and service categories.
  • Understanding of contract negotiation, risk management and commercial and legal terms.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken. Ability to synthetize complex or ambiguous issues into simple and clear statements.
  • Self-motivated, driven self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for sales.
  • Analytical and financial skills to perform market analysis and prepare business plans.
  • Fluency in English and Russian, both written and spoken.
