Job Title: Area Security Manager (ASM)

Business Unit: Security

Location: All Regions

Reports To: Director of Security

POSITION SUMMARY

The Area Security Manager (ASM) provides best in class management, security service and support to each operational/support function for each location in their assigned area. The ASM provides operational and administrative leadership to their support staff, other Trulieve employees, and key stakeholders. The ASM ensures the protection of the company’s most valuable assets, its employees. The ASM manages security monitors, supervisors, and technicians to ensure oversight for effective operations. ASM’s manage, train, recommend, facilitate, discuss, and communicate with employees as well as external stakeholders. ASM’s review and test for physical security compliance and industry standards to mitigate security risks. ASM’s manage outcomes as it pertains to company assets, facility security, personal security, damage reports, external theft, internal shrinkage, and risk mitigation as needed. ASM’s will conduct and assist with security investigations. The ASM will assume responsibility for all other implied tasks as needed or required to deliver the implied result. This role will report to the director of security for their region. (SW, NE, or SE).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Management/Leadership:

  • ASM’s coordinates regularly with the director of security to plan, task, manage, report, investigate, and resolve directives and objectives.
  • ASM’s coordinates scheduled inspections/audits monthly and quarterly as required by compliance and internal standards.
  • ASM’s coordinate with staff as needed to support security directives with retail, state production, cultivation, and corporate partners.
  • ASM’s support leaders unilaterally and support their initiatives.
  • ASM’s monitor policies and rules and provide operational oversight to proactively plan, formulate, and configure area security dynamics.
  • ASM’s conduct operational reviews with the director of security as scheduled.
  • ASM’s conduct one to one mentorship/guidance with their staff monthly.
  • ASM’s author investigative summaries and other documents as needed in the fulfillment of their assigned duties.
  • ASM’s provide training, expectations, feedback, and performance reviews of security staff.
  • ASM’s collaborate and communicate with their peers in other divisions within the company.

Administrative/ Operations:

  • ASM’s maintains accountability of administrative reports and review regularly.
  • ASM’s reviews all processes regularly for effectiveness and recommends changes when appropriate.
  • ASM’s manage processes that compliment regional or national objectives.
  • ASM’s establish regular communication with plant/site managers to establish threat awareness and the use of training plans.
  • ASM’s manage and reviews complex events and operations to ensure continuity of operations.
  • ASM’s lead security investigations in conjunction with the director of security.
  • ASM’s frequently communicate to the director of security to provide incident reports, briefings and after-action recommendations to leadership.

Security Management:

  • ASM’s should be knowledgeable and proficient with security-based systems deployed in their assigned area.
  • ASM’s manage each discipline of security to result in security driven results that align with company and department objectives.
  • ASM’s manage the director of security’s vision and intent on a regional and national scale.
  • ASM’s are proficient in their respective elements of their scope and duties.
  • ASM’s train staff on security protocols (SOPs) and guidelines for each office, including access control standards and policies, visitor management, event security, incident response, security guard operations, technical security solutions, and emergency preparedness training for staff.
  • ASM’s manage security and threat management programs to support the safety and well-being of employees and physical assets.
  • ASM’s manage relationships with local resources and stakeholders and understands the nuances of working with security partners at every level of security operations.
  • ASM’s are involved in the hiring and retention of employees who meet or exceed security standards.
  • Assume responsibility for the director of security in their absence.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience.
  • Government/Private sector security management certification preferred
  • Preferred minimum of 2+ years of corporate security experience; (Law enforcement and/or military experience included)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and complete directives as assigned
  • Solid knowledge of risk assessment methodologies
  • Basic project management skills with ability to achieve results
  • Strong presence as it pertains to relationship-building skills, effective at building trust
  • Experience with budget planning and fiscal management
  • Experience with conflict resolution and de-escalation
  • Experience with complex problem solving and being detail oriented
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Strong leadership skills

PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS

  • Must be able to climb a ladder and work from a safe, elevated platform
  • Must be able to work in inclement weather including excessive heat and cold from time to time.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to possess a valid driver’s license for the state they work in
  • Must be able to bend, squat, and raise their arms to work in tight spaces from time to time
  • Must be able to read and write the English language
  • Must be able to work unusual or off hours from time to time including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • May be required to pass specialty trainings
