Area Safety Manager:
Coordinates with the Corporate HSE department and local management in the development and implementation of dnata USA’s HS&E programs to increase proficiency in safe practices and promote a safety culture. Establishes and promotes the maintenance of a safe, healthy and accident-free work environment by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates or other base employees.

Essential Functions of the Regional Manager STC (Safety, Training & Compliance)

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Support the IMS through being power users of the Metric Stream tools to ensure employee's training are current

Conducts field safety (EHSS&Q) inspections to ensure that the company is maintaining a safe work environment and that all employees are working in a safe manner (safe place/safe people)

Manages team of Safety Managers/Coordinators

Reviews classes, employee MTRs and conducts OJT verification to ensure employee's training courses are up to date

Coordinate and present classes in all areas of safe working activities

Directs entity's safety programs to protect employees against harm, and maintain safe working conditions

Formulates and suggests work safety standards and enforces procedures. Risk prevention areas include hazardous materials exposure, accidents, fires, or other unsafe conditions

Meets compliance and reporting requirements of federal or state regulations

Advises management on best mitigations and monitors the corrective actions through minutes, discussions of the Issues module.

Conduct safety and health walk-through inspections of all workplace facilities.

Conduct accident/injury investigations and illness exposure monitoring.

Monitor and investigate "near-miss" situations.

Maintain required safety and health documents/files.

Liaises with management with regards to the provision of the required training to individuals to ensure compliance

Manages compilation of material to be used for safety training syllabus design as driven by the identified business needs and regulatory requirement

Lead projects and programs from conception to review

Ensures the implementation effectiveness of HSSE training and programs

Support the development of an assurance program consisting of site pre-work, site visits to Regional dnata USA/MAS stations, return visits for follow-up and verification and risk-based program development.

Safety theme development, site inspection and interventions, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

QUALIFICATIONS

Excellent leadership and people management skills

Interpersonal skills: Independence, decisiveness, and the ability to work accurately and independent of immediate support. Able to influence, engage and motivate at all levels

Computer knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and web-based applications

Ability to read and interpret documents

Ability to write reports and correspondence

High attention to detail

Excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication skills

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Possess/maintain a valid State driver's license and other FAA/Airport required identification/seals or authorizations.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Prior aviation experience desirable.
