Coal Region Consulting & Investigations, LLC is seeking a dedicated, professional, and community-oriented School Resource Officer (SRO) in the Schuylkill County and surrounding regions to provide a safe and secure learning environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The School Resource Officer will serve as a visible security presence while fostering positive relationships within the school community through safety, prevention, education, and mentorship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain a visible presence throughout assigned school buildings and campus.
  • Monitor school grounds and respond promptly to safety and security concerns.
  • Assist with emergency response procedures, crisis management, and evacuation protocols.
  • Investigate incidents occurring on school property and prepare accurate reports.
  • Work collaboratively with school administrators, faculty, students, parents, and local law enforcement.
  • Help deter criminal activity, violence, bullying, and disruptive behavior.
  • Enforce school safety policies and applicable laws while maintaining professionalism and respect.
  • Conduct security assessments and recommend improvements to school safety procedures.
  • Participate in school events and activities as needed.
  • Serve as a positive role model and resource for students and staff.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • NASRO Certification Required
  • Previous law enforcement, military, school security, or related public safety experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, child abuse clearances, and any required pre-employment screenings.
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk, stand, and patrol for extended periods.
  • Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.
