FRASER, a creative agency, is hiring an Art Director & 3D Designer in Cape Town to art direct and hands-on produce photoreal product CGI, stills and animations for international brands — covering look development, materials and lighting from concept to delivery. Core tools: Cinema 4D, Redshift/Octane, After Effects, Adobe Creative Cloud, plus AI tools like ComfyUI and Krea.
We're looking for an Art Director & 3D Designer to handle our product CGI and motion work for our clients. You'll take projects from the first idea and art direction right through to hands-on 3D production and final images or animation. You'll care about products, materials, lighting and visual storytelling, and you'll be comfortable both setting the creative direction and doing the work yourself.
What you'll do
• Art direct product CGI, motion and visual development projects from concept to delivery
• Build look development, materials and lighting to create premium, photoreal product visuals
• Produce high-end 3D stills and animations for advertising, digital and e-commerce
• Develop early concepts, style frames and visual treatments for pitches and briefs
• Work closely with creative, production and client teams across our offices
• Use AI workflows, where it makes sense, to speed up ideation and production
• Keep quality and consistency high across every deliverable • 5+ years' experience in CGI, 3D design and motion, ideally in an agency or creative studio
• A strong portfolio of product CGI, motion and art direction for well-known brands
• Solid skills in look development, materials, lighting and product visualisation
• A conceptual thinker who can also deliver hands-on to a high standard
• A background in product or industrial design, illustration or a related field (a plus)
• Clear communication and confidence presenting ideas to clients
• Fluent English
