Art Director
The Props Manager is responsible for sourcing, managing, and maintaining all props used in the documentary. This role ensures that props are appropriate, functional, and aligned with the documentary’s objectives and vision. The Props Manager will collaborate with the production team to ensure props enhance the storytelling and are respectful to the subjects and communities involved.
Responsibilities:
1. Source and acquire all necessary props for the documentary.
2. Ensure all props are appropriate, respectful, and sensitive to the subjects and communities involved.
3. Maintain a detailed inventory of props and ensure they are in good condition.
4. Collaborate with directors, producers, and other key personnel to align props with the documentary’s vision.
5. Manage the storage, organization, and transportation of all props.
6. Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards in prop use.
7. Develop and implement policies and procedures for prop management.
8. Address prop-related issues and troubleshoot problems as they arise.
9. Coordinate with admin, projects, accounts, vendors, and suppliers for prop acquisition.
10. Ensure the safety and well-being of the crew and talent when using props.
11. Monitor and report on the status of props to stakeholders.
12. Provide creative input to enhance storytelling through prop usage.
13. Work within deadlines to acquire and prepare props on time.
