What is this job all about?
We are on the lookout for an Art Lead - someone who won’t just create visuals but will shape the entire artistic vision of the product.
If you’re someone who can imagine the look & feel of a game from A to Z, develop visual strategies, create compelling concepts, ensure quality, give constructive feedback, and effectively support and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, then this role is for you!
You’ll work closely with 2D Artists, 3D Artists, Concept Artists, and Technical Artists - and you’ll be the driving force behind their creative alignment and output.
What will you be doing?
Setting the game’s visual direction and leading the art team to deliver consistent, high-quality visuals across all assets and environments;
Applying technical expertise to optimize assets for performance, ensuring they meet both artistic and gameplay needs;
Maintaining high standards of visual quality, attention to detail, and stylistic consistency across multiple tasks and deadlines;
Providing feedback, guidance, and mentorship to Artists to support their growth and ensure the successful execution of design projects, while also actively contributing to team development through recruitment and ongoing talent nurturing;
Structuring the creative process - turning ideas and vision into actionable steps and deliverables;
Creating assets and actively participating in creating new locations within the game, where needed;
Collaborating with the Producer (Project Manager) to coordinate the planning of assets production;
Recruiting, onboarding, and supporting new team members throughout their growth journey;
Leading performance reviews, providing regular feedback, and supporting the professional growth and development of team members;
Working closely with cross-functional partners and product managers to strengthen and scale the production pipeline as well as drive innovative solutions.
What are we looking for?
Experience in an art leadership or coordination role in game development (min. 2 years);
Being passionate about games and having up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in game design and visual communication;
Capacity to work independently as well as lead the art team;
Experience in 2D or 3D software, e.g. Photoshop, 3DS Max, Blender etc.;
Demonstrated ability to produce top-quality assets;
Solid understanding of UX and its importance in the player experience;
Possessing knowledge and comprehension of the project's features;
A great eye for visual quality, detail, and style consistency;
Value and respect feedback from your team;
Experience in people management - including participation in recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, compensation processes;
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Amaze us with:
Experience in semi-realistic productions;
Academic background (Art Academy, Fine Arts, Design, etc.);
Strong portfolio showcasing your art direction skills and leadership impact;
Knowledge of art optimization for mobile games;
Exposure to the Unity engine.
