Overview
The Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform. They work primarily with RPG (RPG III/IV, RPGLE, Free-Format RPG), CL/CLLE, DB2 for i, SQL, and IBM i system utilities to build and enhance business-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and maintain AS400/IBM i applications.
- Write and optimize RPG, CL, SQL, and DB2 programs.
- Analyze business requirements and provide technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Support system integrations, data migration, and application modernization efforts.
- Collaborate with business users, analysts, and cross-functional teams.
Required Experience
- 5+ years of experience with IBM i (AS400) development.
- Strong proficiency in RPGLE, Free-Format RPG, CLLE, DB2/400, and embedded SQL.
- Experience with application support, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of system interfaces, APIs, and batch processing.
- Familiarity with modernization tools and integration with web-based applications is a plus.
