Description:
- Perform physical labor on commercial patching and paving projects, including saw cutting, asphalt removal, and base compaction when necessary.
- Assist in the offloading and placement of asphalt material, spreading, shoveling, and tamping to achieve the desired grade.
- Clear roads and pathways of debris, ensuring a safe and clean work environment.
- Assist with traffic control to prevent disruption to work zones and ensure safety.
- Measure paving areas to verify compliance with project specifications.
- Operate hand tools and equipment to support the paving process, including raking and smoothing asphalt.
- Monitor job site safety and enforce proper signage and traffic management.
- Review and follow equipment operations manuals, ensuring safe and efficient use of tools and machinery.
- Assist the Foreman and Team Lead with project assignments and job site cleanup.
- Participate in bi-weekly safety meetings and on-the-job safety briefings.
- Maintain and organize tools and equipment, ensuring they are accounted for and in good working condition.
- Drive trucks to transport materials and equipment as needed, assisting in the maintenance of all equipment.
- Report any accidents or incidents to the Foreman or Superintendent and follow company safety procedures.
- Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned by the Foreman or Superintendent to support workflow and meet deadlines.
- Ensure the job site is cleared of equipment and machinery upon work completion.
- Adhere to all company policies and Standard Operating Procedures while maintaining a professional and ethical work environment.
