Assembly Technician

Summary

Perform mechanical assembly, grinding, and cleaning in a manufacturing environment, reading blueprints and utilizing inspection equipment to ensure quality and traceability.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical & mechanical tasks such as grinding, chemical cleaning, process treatments, etc.
  • Safely execute production and service provisions under controlled conditions
  • Organize work to maintain accountability and traceability
  • Control and monitoring of critical to quality items
  • Participation in 5s, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and other continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work independently and as part of a team in a production environment
  • Maintain proper documentation and traceability for work performed
  • Carry out assigned production tasks safely and in accordance with company procedures
  • Read and interpret blueprints and follow documented work instructions

Additional Job Duties:

    • Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S practices
    • Perform other related duties as assigned

    Core Competencies:

    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and utilize inspection equipment (micrometers, verniers, etc.)
    • Ability to work with co-workers and external contacts in a positive and professional manner
    • Strong mathematical, verbal and written communications skills
    • Strong attention to detail

    • Excellent time keeping/attendance habits. Motivated with a “can-do” attitude
    • Good hand-eye coordination

    EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND REQUIRED

    • Minimum high school completion
    • Technical Diploma

    WORK EXPERINCE REQUIRED

    • 1-2 yrs experience assembling small components/hardware installation in a manufacturing environment.

    Physical Demands:

    • Repetitive tasks such as assembly operations
    • Position involves sitting for long periods of time
    • Ability to lift and handle items weighing between 10–30 lbs
    • Periods of sitting or standing during work activities

    Environmental Hazards:

    • Shop floor environment
    • Potential exposure to chemicals and cleaning agents
    • Slip or trip hazards in manufacturing areas
    • Repetitive motion

    Hourly wage: $22.55 to $25.11
