POSITION OVERVIEW
TransGrid Energy is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Asset Management Analyst to join its Asset Management team. This junior role supports the day-to-day management of the Company’s operating renewable energy and battery storage assets, helping track performance, revenue, expenses, and open issues across a growing portfolio.
The Asset Operations Specialist will play a key role in monitoring asset performance, maintaining trackers and project documentation, supporting monthly and quarterly reporting, tracking compliance and contractual obligations, and coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to keep the portfolio running smoothly. The role requires strong organizational discipline, solid Excel and data skills, and a willingness to grow into a broader asset management function over time.
The ideal candidate combines strong attention to detail with a practical understanding of renewable energy operations and a genuine interest in learning the commercial, operational, and contractual drivers that matter to a portfolio of battery and solar assets.
Location / Work Arrangement: This position is currently remote. However, the role is expected to transition to onsite work arrangement in Houston, TX once the company’s Houston office is established. Candidates must be willing and able to work from the Houston office at that time. The timing of this transition has not yet been finalized.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Track day-to-day performance of assigned assets.
Monitor availability, outages, derates, alarms, and operational issues.
Maintain asset trackers, issue logs, and project documentation.
Support monthly and quarterly reporting.
Review O&M, SCADA/EMS, scheduling coordinator, and vendor reports.
Perform budget vs. actuals variance analysis, investigate deviations, and prepare commentary on revenue performance and operating expenses. • Support invoice review and backup documentation.
Track contractual obligations under O&M agreements, PPAs, LTSAs, warranties, and other service contracts.
Track NERC and FERC compliance reporting schedules internally and with external vendors. Develop working knowledge of the power markets in which assets operate (e.g., CAISO, ERCOT, PJM) and support revenue analysis across energy, capacity, and ancillary service products.
Support lender, tax equity, and investor reporting, including compiling operational and financial data and backup documentation.
Coordinate with the accounting team on monthly accruals, project-level financial reporting, and budget-to-actual reconciliations.
Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve open items.
Prepare summaries and ad hoc analysis for management.
Identify and implement process improvements, dashboards, and data organization initiatives.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, economics, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
Renewable energy, battery storage, utility, power markets, finance, or operations experience preferred.
Strong Excel skills required.
Comfortable working with financial, operational, and contractual information.
Strong attention to detail and organization.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Able to manage multiple priorities and follow up on open items.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with solar, BESS, or thermal industries.
Experience with CAISO, ERCOT, PJM, or other power markets.
Experience with Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, SQL, or Python.
Exposure to project finance, tax equity structures, or battery storage revenue optimization.
Familiarity with asset management, O&M, SCADA, or scheduling.
Interest in growing into a broader asset management role.
