IronMountain Solutions is seeking an Asset Project Manager (APM). The Asset Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of scheduled maintenance availabilities for U.S. Coast Guard patrol boats. Working closely with Coast Guard engineers, Port Engineers, Maintenance Integrators, and ship repair contractors, the APM develops repair packages, coordinates maintenance activities, monitors project execution, and supports project closeout.

The ideal candidate has experience with ship maintenance, project management, technical writing, and government contracting processes.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage programmed depot maintenance for Coast Guard patrol boats.
  • Conduct vessel assessments to identify Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) maintenance requirements.
  • Access confined shipboard spaces, machinery areas, and ladders while performing vessel assessments.
  • Develop technical Statements of Work (SOWs) and repair specifications for commercial ship repair contracts.
  • Coordinate maintenance planning activities with Port Engineers and Maintenance Integrators.
  • Participate in maintenance planning teams supporting both planned and emergency repair availabilities.
  • Attend availability planning meetings, arrival conferences, site visits, and post-availability reviews.
  • Review Condition Found Reports and Change Requests and recommend technical solutions.
  • Prepare procurement documentation and funding requests supporting maintenance activities.
  • Perform market research to obtain pricing for repair services, spare parts, and technical equipment.
  • Maintain cutter maintenance records and casualty information within Coast Guard maintenance systems.
  • Initiate Purchase Requests and MILSTRIPs supporting maintenance execution.
  • Support project closeout by ensuring maintenance records and documentation are complete.
  • Prepare technical memoranda, reports, briefings, and recommendations for Coast Guard leadership.
  • Communicate effectively with Government personnel, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the maintenance lifecycle.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use tools or controls; normal physical activity (reach with hands and arms; climb stairs); and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and leadership. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Project Management, Logistics, Marine Transportation, Business, or a related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Two or more years of experience supporting ship maintenance, engineering, logistics, or technical project management.
  • Experience developing technical documentation or Statements of Work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze technical information and make sound recommendations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional project teams.
  • Ability to climb ladders and safely access confined shipboard spaces during vessel assessments.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Coast Guard facility access credentials.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Navy, Military Sealift Command, or commercial shipyard experience.
  • Familiarity with Coast Guard maintenance and logistics processes.
  • Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
  • Experience supporting depot maintenance or ship repair availabilities.
  • Familiarity with Fleet Logistics System (FLS), ALMIS, ACMS, or similar maintenance management systems.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management experience.

Work Environment

  • Full-time onsite position located in Norfolk, Virginia.
  • Standard Monday–Friday business hours with occasional schedule adjustments to support Coast Guard operational requirements.
  • Limited travel may be required in support of vessel maintenance activities.
