Job Summary

The Haskell Public Policy Institute at Jacksonville University invites applications for two full-time faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank, beginning in August 2027. The Institute seeks candidates who will contribute to the Master in Public Policy (MPP) Program, its undergraduate offerings, and the continued growth of the Institute.

Successful candidates will have expertise in political science, public policy, economics, or a closely related field and be prepared to teach courses that support the core curriculum of the MPP Program. Candidates may bring expertise spanning these areas, with particular interest in profiles that strengthen the Institute’s capacity in political science, public policy, and economics.

Across the two positions, teaching needs may include research methods, political institutions, policy analysis, ethics, microeconomics for public policy, or public finance, as well as appropriate elective and undergraduate public policy courses. Depending on disciplinary expertise and program needs, successful candidates may also teach courses in related undergraduate programs, including Political Science, Economics, or other appropriate areas within the College of Arts and Sciences. Successful candidates will also advise and mentor MPP capstone students.

Candidates should also demonstrate an ability to engage in public policy and interact effectively with students, faculty, policy practitioners, and community leaders. Successful candidates will work closely with the Institute Executive Director on the MPP academic program, Institute activities, and community engagement. The determination of the appropriate rank for each appointment will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications, background, and experience.
