Assistant Analyst

Summary

The Assistant Analyst supports the Corporate ESG team by managing, analyzing, and reporting on sustainability data using Excel and Power BI. The role involves maintaining data integrity, conducting technical research on regulations, and coordinating with global teams to support sustainability reporting.

The candidate will support the Corporate ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) team in the UK, to provide data analysis and under the direction of WSP India GCC Research & Insights Function. The candidate needs to be comfortable working with quantitative and qualitative data in all its forms, be an advanced user of Excel and reporting tools such as Power BI and be confident in using business data and analytics. Alongside strong data analytical skills, the candidate must be detail-oriented, have exceptional administrative and organisational skills and must have excellent written and verbal communication abilities in the English language. The role reports to the India Head of Research & Insights, working closely with the Director of Corporate ESG in the UK and other team members.

This Corporate Sustainability (ESG) capability in the GCC owns and delivers a range of projects that ensure data integrity, build programme resilience and underpin WSP's sustainability reporting:

  1. Data Management: Support the process to collect, organise, and evaluate ESG data. Track and promote the continual improvement of this data over reporting cycles. This includes, but is not limited to, the maintenance of a robust and accurate GHG Inventory.
  2. Data Analysis: Interpret ESG data and communicate insights in a clear and engaging way to stakeholders - examples include Oracle BMS exports, office energy data, and travel emissions data.
  3. Knowledge Management: Own the process to track and maintain Corporate Sustainability resources owned by the team; to support internal engagement and work winning or bid development.
  4. External Monitoring: Execute technical research and communicate insights to advise the team and internal stakeholders on changing UK and European standards, regulation and best practice.
  5. Global Coordination: Align with the Global Sustainability team to ensure consistency and efficiency in ESG practices across WSP regions.
  6. Business As Usual Activities: Support the team in delivering on ad-hoc day to day deliverables. Examples include; bid responses, information requests, queries from clients, etc.
  • At least 2-3 years of professional experience (or equivalent educational experience) in data management and analysis.

  • Following task/project allocation, can prioritise and manage their own workload

  • Organised in the way they work and can set up and follow new processes in the team

  • A clear communicator with both peers and senior stakeholders

  • Willingness to learn / be proactive

  • Analytical mind

  • Engage with team culture and collaboration

  • European language an advantage

  • Well versed in Power BI, Microsoft Office Programs such as Teams, Word, and Excel, Access (Access is a bonus but can be learnt with use).

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent customer service approach to working with other departments and teams.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive and, at times, commercially or strategically confidential workloads.
