The College of Medicine, Department of Surgery at the University of Cincinnati is seeking an academic Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery as a multi-organ transplant surgeon for a full-time, non-tenure track position. This position joins an active faculty group and busy transplant program dedicated to a clinical practice supporting transplant patients, oncology patients, patients needing vascular access for dialysis or hepatobiliary surgeries; resident teaching activities of surgery residents and fellows; and clinical research. Essential Functions

  • Display expertise in solid organ abdominal transplantation specifically liver transplantation, kidney transplantation, and pancreas transplantation and experience in living donor transplantation.
  • Perform clinical duties in general surgery and solid organ transplant, including donor procurement.
  • The candidate will be expected to participate in the operating room, ward teaching, and the advising and training of fellows, surgical residents, and medical students.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to an academic career through research, teaching, and supporting the department’s academic mission.
  • Attend departmental and divisional meetings as relevant, to include participation in grand rounds and morbidity and mortality (M&M) review.

Minimum Requirements

  • MD/DO or equivalent
  • Completion of a five-year accredited residency in Surgery
  • Board certified or board eligible in General Surgery; and completion of an accredited fellowship in Abdominal Transplant Surgery.
  • Two years of clinical experience is preferred.
  • Licensure by Ohio Medical Board is required by time of appointment
