Assistant or Associate Professor in Psychological Science
The University of Lynchburg, a private, regional university in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Central Virginia, is seeking applicants for two tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor positions in Psychological Science beginning in the 2027-28 academic year. We seek colleagues with a strong commitment to teaching excellence and scholarship. Area of specialization is open, but we prefer candidates with expertise in clinical/counseling and social/cognitive psychology.
Candidates will have the opportunity to take advantage of resources provided by the Teaching and Learning Center and the Percy Wootton Research Center and will be eligible to apply for internal funds to support travel, scholarly work, faculty-student research, and professional development.
Specific Job Duties:
- Teaching a combination of introductory and upper-level courses. Courses in the regular rotation include introductory psychology, research design and analysis, senior capstone, and courses in the candidate’s area of specialization.
- Typical teaching load is four courses per semester.
- Collaboration with colleagues on curriculum development, undergraduate academic advising, and service on University committees.
- Supervising student research projects and engaging in scholarly activity.

Teaching Load:
