The Role
As Assistant Branch Manager, you’ll work alongside the Branch Manager to run the branch and drive its growth. You’ll lead from the front, taking charge of quotes, materials and orders, and making sure the team delivers on time and in full, every time. When the Branch Manager is away, you’ll step up and run things yourself.
We’re looking for someone who’s brilliant with people, takes real pride in their work, and brings out the best in the team around them.
We’ll need you to:
· Step up and run the branch when the Branch Manager is away, keeping standards high and the team on track
Be a confident leader who can motivate, coach and support colleagues, and set a good example
Help grow the branch’s sales ledger, both by building on existing accounts and by pursuing new business, and create a proactive, sales-focused culture
Keep a close eye on branch performance, including sales targets, margins, stock levels and order accuracy, challenging costs to maximise profitability
Take ownership of branch operations, including health and safety, vehicle management, key holding, merchandising, stock control and ordering
Deliver high standards of customer service face to face and over the phone, and support in all areas of the branch as needed
Ideally, you’ll already have experience with our products, but we’ll put training in place to support the right person.
