This position is based out of the Sterrettania Branch, but will be required as needed to float to other branches.
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The assistant branch manager is responsible assisting the branch manager with the overall operations of the branch. This position requires knowledge of banking practices, procedures, products and services. It also requires continual growth in knowledge of risk management, requirements in accordance with state and federal regulations; and of personnel principles and practices.

Complete backup of all of the following branch manager duties in their absence and/or as assigned:

Responsible for ensuring profitability and growth of branch based on budgetary expectations. This includes growth in market share, new business generation and business banking referrals, customer retention, controlling branch expenses, expanding both loan and deposit portfolios and leading the cross-serve initiative.

Serve as a mortgage lender, responsible for growth in number of loans, dollar value of branch portfolio, accuracy in loan processing and documentation, maintaining acceptable delinquency rates, and proficiency in knowledge of lending compliance.

Supervises and analyzes branch activity to ensure both branch and employee goals are met. Manages employees ensuring proper and safe coverage for branch needs. Works to create a satisfying environment in which customers and employees feel comfortable and accepted. Encourages growth and development of employees. Provides leadership in decision making, in following bank’s policies and procedures, in knowledge of products and services, as well as expected general work habits. Meaningfully completes all required performance evaluations.

Participates in all personnel decisions in the branch, inclusive of hiring, disciplinary action, terminations.

Participates in training and ensures all employees complete required training while encouraging additional, optional training programs.

Communicates regularly with Branch Manager, attends all required bank meetings. Leads regular staff meetings which include employee sales initiatives.

Responsible for ensuring customer service in the branch meets bank standards. This includes complaint resolution.

Requires community outreach and service on boards, volunteerism, hosting in the bank’s suite.

Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Supervisory Responsibilities
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Education And/Or Experience:
College degree or high school diploma or equivalent and 5+ years banking experience. Broad knowledge of the bank’s products and services is required; complete understanding of all regulatory compliance is required.
Ability to demonstrate general knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act/USA Patriot Act, Privacy laws and regulations, as well as consumer protection lending laws and regulations; including, but not limited to, Fair Lending laws and regulations (Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Regulation B, Community Reinvestment Act, and Home Mortgage Disclosure Act), Truth-in-Lending Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, and Flood Disaster Protection Act.
General knowledge of information security is required. This includes understanding the importance of safekeeping confidential customer information, understanding and acknowledgement of Bank policies in relation to information security, and maintaining safety in the Bank’s network.
Employee must demonstrate thorough knowledge of Marquette products/services and apply that knowledge to solve customer problems appropriately and effectively. Must also be fully versed/comfortable with the sales process to cross-serve those customers and develop new customer relationships.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to speak effectively with employees of the organization.
The employee must have the ability to use standard office equipment. Must possess a working knowledge of standard computer operating systems and programs used in an office setting.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to handle both positive and negative correspondence regarding accounts, with an ability to demonstrate a high level of decision making.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and utilize sensory/motor skills. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, walk, and talk or hear.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is consistently quiet.
The employee will occasionally perform work/job related traveling.
Employee in this position will be required to work in indoor environment and come in direct contact with staff and customers.
