Assistant Branch Manager - Westland / Farmington
The Assistant Branch Manager will jointly serve the Shelby and Troy branches. Provides support and assists the Branch Manager in the overall day-to-day management of a retail branch. Assumes responsibility for all Branch Manager duties in their absence. Performs transactions including taking loan applications and closing loans (consumer and home equity). The new Assistant Branch Manager will be expected to work at the Troy Branch and Shelby Branches alternating weeks. Coaches and develops Tellers at both locations. Keeps both Branch Managers up to date on employee and branch matters. Coaching and performance reviews will be conducted by both Branch Managers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Supervision Responsibilities – Supports Branch Manager with defined supervision responsibilities to ensure positive performance of all branch functions.
- Operations/Audits – Maintains superior knowledge of all operational processes and procedures. Maintains a high level of understanding of the branch audit function and assists with assuring branch is in compliance with audit standards at all times. Assists with the preparation of responses to any adverse audit findings and works with Branch Manager to implement any corrective measures.
- Effectively establishes relationships with members, identifying their needs and then offering appropriate solutions in a compelling way that exhibits value, understands the features and benefits, as well as risks, and purchases the solution. Works with and coaches branch employees to identify member investment needs or potential opportunities for investment services and refer them to the Financial Consultant.
- Prospects within the branch by establishing relationships with the members identify members’ investment needs and offers them products or services, or refers to the financial consultants.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate Degree. Emphasis of study in business administration preferred; and
- Minimum of two years of work - related experience,
- Hold a valid Michigan Credit Insurance License or obtain such designation within 6 months of hire date.
- Consumer and/or mortgage lending experience preferred.
- Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills
