In this position, you will support daily building operations through a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks, custodial duties, groundskeeping activities, and event support.

Your responsibilities will include performing general building maintenance and light construction, completing routine preventive maintenance on building systems such as HVAC, and assisting with basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs throughout the facility. You will help maintain the outdoor areas by mowing grass, supporting landscaping efforts, monitoring parking lot conditions, and removing snow to ensure safe access for employees and visitors. Inside the building, you will contribute to custodial tasks by cleaning offices and common areas and assisting with trash removal, helping ensure our environment remains welcoming and professional.

The role also includes preparing rooms for meetings and events, maintaining company vehicles, and conducting scheduled local deliveries and pickups. At times, you may help guide custodial staff and interns or serve as a point of contact for building security systems. You will also act as the backup to the Building Engineer when needed, ensuring continuity of operations. This position is dynamic, collaborative, and essential to the smooth daily functioning of our organization.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, and preferably two to three years of experience in a construction-related trade such as electrical, plumbing, or HVAC. A valid Missouri driver’s license is required for completing local deliveries and supporting facility-related travel.

  • Working knowledge of basic building and grounds maintenance
  • Knowledge of equipment and cleaning materials used for maintenance, construction, and facility upkeep
  • Knowledge of and strict adherences to building codes, regulations, safety policies, and procedures
  • Skill in communicating effectively with staff, vendors, and supervisors
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to meet established deadlines
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships and collaborate with others in a team-oriented environment

Physical Demands:

This position involves regular repetitive motions related to maintenance, repair, and cleaning tasks, along with bending, kneeling, lifting, moving materials or boxes, and working in tight or confined spaces as part of the daily building and grounds operations. Will require working in extreme heat and/or cold weather conditions periodically.
