This position is designated as SES, General. USDA structures its SES positions into position levels. This is a position level 1 with a salary range of $192,332 - $204,121 per year. Exceptions to the salary cap may be considered in certain circumstances. SES employees are also eligible to receive bonuses and performance-based awards. Provides executive leadership to facilitate and leverage information technology resources to effectively support the Mission Area.

Formulates long-range plans and objectives for Mission Area information resources management and evaluates the effectiveness of the Mission Area's efforts in meeting objectives and with appropriate action to remedy deficiencies.

Directs, coordinates, oversees and manages the planning, development, implementation, validation, operation, and maintenance of all information technology services and activities within the Mission Area.

Serves as an advisor to Mission Area, USDA, and other senior executives on all aspects of information resources management.

Responsible for working with the mission areas and agencies to develop mutually acceptable systems and related procedures.

Responsible for establishing and maintaining ongoing contact with various government agencies, contractors, vendors, and other organizations.
