Assistant Commercial Manager

  • Leads commercial analysis, ensures data accuracy and integrity, and provides insights that enable informed decision-making, effective risk management, and improved project outcomes.
  • Serves as a senior advisor on projects and initiatives of large scope and complexity.
  • Leads the delivery of accurate and timely commercial reporting, analysis, and forecasting.
  • Drives earned value management (EVM) and performance index reporting, ensuring alignment between cost and schedule data.
  • Provides detailed analysis of cost, revenue, margin, and cash performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Analyzes complex margin erosion drivers, cash performance, and change recovery trends.
  • Enables disciplined change, cost, and risk tracking, including proper monetization and impact assessment.
  • Ensures data integrity across commercial systems and tools, supporting audits, reconciliation, and compliance.
  • Supports governance reviews and approval workflows, ensuring compliance with commercial policies and procedures.
  • Leads contract compliance monitoring, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Drives the development, review, and challenge of EAC (Estimate at Completion) and ETC (Estimate to Complete) forecasts.
  • Provides insights to support margin enhancement initiatives and overall business performance improvement.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in commercial analysis, project controls, or cost management within the built environment industry (construction, engineering, or infrastructure sectors).
  • Demonstrated expertise in Earned Value Management (EVM) principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proficiency with commercial analysis software and tools (e.g., Primavera, Deltek, SAP, or equivalent project controls platforms).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with proven experience in financial forecasting, variance analysis, and trend identification.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools for complex financial reporting and analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex commercial data to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in contract compliance monitoring, change management, and risk assessment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deliverables.
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and maintain data integrity in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with audit preparation, reconciliation processes, and compliance with commercial policies and procedures.
