Assistant Construction Project Manager

At VPG, our Assistant Project Managers keep projects moving. We're looking for an organized, collaborative team player who can support the Project Manager across scheduling, reporting, team coordination, and risk management — helping every project stay on track, on budget, and aligned to company standards.

You'll be a key partner on-site and in the office: maintaining schedules and documentation, keeping the team aligned, tracking performance metrics, flagging risks early, and helping ensure company processes are followed consistently across project activities.

What You'll Do:

● Assist in creating and maintaining project schedules and timelines.

● Help coordinate project meetings and follow up on action items.

● Support the Project Manager in document management and reporting.

● Facilitate information sharing among team members and stakeholders.

● Assist in organizing team-building activities and maintaining team morale.

● Support conflict resolution and promote a positive team environment.

● Assist in tracking project schedules and milestones.

● Help monitor project budgets and financial performance.

● Support quality control efforts and report on quality metrics.

● Help identify potential project risks and report them to the Project Manager.

● Assist in developing risk mitigation strategies.

● Support the implementation of solutions to project challenges.

● Assist in implementing and maintaining company standard processes.

● Help train team members on process requirements and best practices.

● Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying process enhancement opportunities.

Requirements:

● Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple schedules and priorities.

● Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.

● Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external stakeholders.

● Strong attention to detail, particularly with documentation and reporting.

● Sound judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and escalate risks.

● Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn project management software.

Preferred Experience:

● Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

● Prior experience in project coordination, project management, or a related support role preferred.

● Experience in construction, property management, or another operationally driven environment a plus.
