Overview
- The Lyon College School of Veterinary Medicine (LCSVM) seeks a dynamic and collaborative leader to serve as Assistant Dean of Student Affairs.
- As part of the Office of Professional Programs, this is a unique opportunity to lead the recruitment and admissions process for our incoming DVM students, help monitor academic performance and maintain academic standards, and promote student service and support initiatives.
- This role is primarily administrative, with opportunities for teaching and outreach/service.
Rank
- Full-time appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
Qualifications
Required
- MS and/or PhD in education, educational leadership, administration, or student/academic affairs-related fields.
- Prior service or work history in veterinary medicine or veterinary education is not required.
Preferred
- Demonstrated experience as an educator or administrator in higher education.
- Proven leadership in an educational setting.
- Involvement with student recruitment and admissions, student orientation, advising, and/or financial aid.

Responsibilities
- Serve on the LCSVM Executive Council.
- In collaboration with the Associate Dean for Professional Programs, lead the recruitment and admissions process for our incoming DVM students and help monitor academic performance and maintain academic standards.
- Promote and be integrated into our student services initiatives of 1) academic advising and counseling; 2) tutoring; 3) peer assistance; 4) counseling/wellness; 5) financial aid counseling; 6) belonging support; 7) student organizations; 8) information access and evaluation; and 9) housing and residential life.
- Foster a collegial, forward-thinking culture.
- Contribute to teaching, scholarship, and professional and community service.
