Assistant Diesel Technician

Job overview\:

• Provide general, non-diagnostic mechanical assistance to diesel technicians in Wilmer, TX.
• Handle routine maintenance on trucks and trailers.
• Perform non-technical tasks, such as parts stocking, inventory counting and parts pick-ups.

Responsibilities\:

• Assist higher skilled technicians on tractor and trailer repairs.
• Replace lights, tires, fuel filters, air filters, mud flaps and mud flap brackets.
• Perform routine cleaning of the shop and equipment.
• Use a computer to create, track and complete work orders.
• Maintain and stock parts inventory.
• Use a forklift and company vehicles to pick up, unload and stock parts.
• Communicate with internal customers, including other shop associates, drivers and operations leaders on repairs stances.
