Assistant Director, Fundraising & Partnerships
Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF)
If you know how to build trust, open doors, grow a strong pipeline, and turn relationships into long-term support — without the hard sell— we should talk.
At BCF, fundraising is not just about asking for money. Itis about building belief, earning trust, and creating meaningful partnerships that support early detection and the breast cancer community in Singapore.
We are looking for an Assistant Director, Fundraising & Partnerships to lead a major fundraising and partnerships portfolio end-to-end. This role is for someone who can build and sustain relationships, spot opportunities early, move conversations forward, and convert interest into meaningful, long-term support.
You do not need to come from a traditional charity fundraising background to succeed here. We are open to candidates from fundraising, private banking, wealth management, relationship management, enterprise sales, sponsorship, account management, partnerships, business development, or other roles where building trusted networks and managing a strong pipeline are central to success.
What matters most is that you can represent BCF with credibility, build lasting relationships, work with discipline and integrity, and are motivated to do your best for a mission that matters.
What you will do
1) Grow fundraising income and strategic partnerships
- Develop and drive an integrated fundraising and partnerships strategy aligned with BCF’s mission, annual priorities and long-term sustainability goals.
- Build, manage and grow a healthy pipeline across corporate partnerships, major donors, individual supporters, grants and foundations, campaigns, events and community fundraising.
- Identify, qualify and pursue new opportunities that strengthen income, reach and long-term strategic value.
- Re-engage past donors, historic partners and lapsed supporters through structured outreach and thoughtful stewardship.
- Work closely with the CEO, leadership and relevant sub-committees to shape prospect strategy, cultivation plans, asks and conversion.
2) Build and sustain high-value relationships
- Cultivate long-term relationships with corporates, donors, foundations, community organisations, connectors and ecosystem partners.
- Represent BCF confidently and professionally at meetings, pitches, events and stakeholder engagements.
- Build trust with senior stakeholders and high-capacity supporters through credibility, follow-through and strong relationship management.
- Understand partner and donor motivations, align opportunities well, and steward relationships beyond the first yes.
- Manage key accounts and partnerships with care, including clear next steps, deliverables, timelines, reporting and stewardship.
3) Keep the pipeline moving
- Maintain strong pipeline discipline across prospecting, cultivation, proposal development, conversion, stewardship and renewal.
- Use CRM and reporting tools to track opportunities, relationship progress, revenue pipeline, next steps and performance.
- Review pipeline health regularly, identify gaps early, and take action to improve momentum and conversion.
- Balance short-term wins with long-term relationship building.
4) Shape compelling proposals and support asks
- Lead the development of proposals, sponsorship decks, grant applications, donor materials and case-for-support content.
- Work with internal teams to translate BCF’s impact, priorities and programmes into clear, credible and compelling narratives.
- Support leadership on pitches, meetings, proposals and follow-up communications.
- Ensure fundraising communications are mission-aligned, ethically framed and evidence-based.
5) Use digital tools and AI to strengthen fundraising effectiveness
- Use CRM, donor data and digital tools to improve prospecting, segmentation, stewardship planning, pipeline visibility and relationship follow-through.
- Apply AI tools productively to support research, idea generation, first-draft proposals, briefing notes, donor profiling, meeting preparation, reporting and workflow efficiency, while ensuring strong human review and judgement.
- Use digital insights and data trends to identify patterns, prioritise opportunities and refine engagement strategies.
- Explore practical uses of automation and digital workflows to improve coordination, reduce manual work and strengthen consistency across the portfolio.
- Evaluate new tools and digital approaches with care, and recommend what to adopt, improve or stop based on usefulness, risk and fit for BCF.
6) Drive cross-functional delivery
- Work closely with internal teams to align plans, roles, timelines, dependencies and success measures.
- Ensure fundraising and partnership initiatives are well coordinated, well tracked and followed through properly.
- Surface issues, trade-offs and support needed early, rather than waiting for problems to become urgent.
- Help BCF show up as One BCF — joined-up, credible and consistent.
7) Strengthen governance, systems and reporting
- Ensure fundraising and partnership activities are carried out in line with BCF policies, governance requirements and relevant regulatory obligations.
- Maintain strong documentation and reporting discipline across donor records, partnership commitments, stewardship tracking and internal updates.
- Prepare clear updates and dashboards for leadership and relevant committees, including pipeline status, risks, opportunities and recommended actions.
- Exercise sound digital judgement in handling donor and partner information, including confidentiality, privacy, data quality and appropriate use of AI-assisted outputs.
- Improve SOPs, templates and workflows so the function becomes more scalable, disciplined and less dependent on memory or last-minute heroics.
8) Lead and develop the team
- Lead, coach and support team members with clear expectations, priorities and rhythms.
- Foster a culture of shared ownership, respectful communication and reliable follow-through.
- Build confidence and capability across relationship management, fundraising writing, stewardship, reporting, systems use and responsible digital practices.
- Promote a positive, collaborative and high-performing culture that reflects BCF’s values in practice.

If your experience is relevant, your judgement is strong, and you are motivated to do your best for BCF, we encourage you to apply.
The kind of person who will thrive here
At BCF, we hire for more than competence. We hire for character, judgement and alignment.
You lead with integrity
You build trust honestly. You do not over-promise, oversell or cut corners for a quick win. You represent BCF in a way that is credible, ethical and responsible.
You bring accountability
You keep momentum moving. You follow through, close loops, manage details well and do not let opportunities drift because “someone will get to it later”.
You are strong at building relationships
You know how to read a room, build rapport, maintain trust and stay connected over time. You are persistent without being pushy.
You work collaboratively
You know this role is not a solo act. You align early, work across teams, and help connect fundraising, programmes, communications and leadership.
You show empathy and respect
You understand that donors, survivors, colleagues and partners are people, not transactions. You communicate with care, professionalism and maturity.
You have drive, but also judgement
You are proactive, resourceful and energised by growth. But you also know when to pace, when to listen, and how to protect trust, brand and relationships over the long term.
You use AI and digital tools with maturity
You see digital tools and AI as useful enablers, not shortcuts for thinking. You know how to use them to work smarter, but you also know that judgement, stewardship, confidentiality and trust cannot be outsourced.
Why join BCF
This is a chance to do work that is both commercially sharp and deeply meaningful.
You will help shape how BCF grows support, builds lasting partnerships and earns long-term trust. You will be part of a team that is strengthening its culture around integrity, empathy, collaboration, accountability, innovation and mutual respect — not as slogans, but as everyday expectations.
If you are someone who can build relationships, grow pipelines, bring energy and good judgement, and want to apply that in service of a meaningful mission, we would love to hear from you.
