Assistant Director / Manager (Contingency Management & Emergency Preparedness)

You will be part of the team to formulate, develop and review adaptive and responsive contingency plans and SOPs for peacetime crisis and emergencies. To ensure preparedness, you will be part of the team to plan, design and execute training plans to maintain high operational readiness through the conduct of training and exercises.Upon activation, you will work within SFA and with Whole of Government (WoG) ministries/agencies to actively assess implications of situations, plan and manage smooth execution of the contingency plans for Peacetime Crisis and emergencies.
The officer will report to Deputy Director (Contingency Management & Emergency Preparedness) of SFA.
[What you will be working on]
- To initiate, formulate, develop, and implement scenario-specific contingency plans for SFA to draw from to respond with agility to unfolding incidents affecting SFA operations or discharge of SFA mission during peacetime contingencies, and emergencies.
- To engage internal and external stakeholders for the purpose of monitoring and ensuring currency of operation plans in managing peacetime crisis and emergencies.
- To conduct periodic reviews on developed plans to ensure continued fitness-for-purpose.
- To coordinate responses and management during peacetime crisis and emergencies across SFA and WoG ministries/agencies.
- To maintain situation awareness and identify threats that may impact or is detrimental to SFA mission.
- To provide timely and comprehensive impact assessments for incidents on SFA operations and discharge of SFA’s mission
- To plan, design and execute SFA-level ops training management plans and exercises.
- To support crisis decision making through anchoring of quarterly decision making platforms chaired by CE.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with relevant experience in engaging relevant stakeholders within and outside organisation.
- Possess strong analytical skills with an eye for details and ability to comprehend the big picture.
- Strong command of written and spoken English; able to speak and present to a large audience.
- A degree or equivalent relevant certification with preferably 2 years of relevant experience in contingency planning and crisis management.
