Assistant Director of Nursing / ADON

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
A. Nursing Department Management
1. Oversees clinical nursing activities to ensure effective and efficient workflow. Quickly reports any workflow issues to Director of Nursing (DON).
2. Maintains the nurses work schedule for the department. This includes approving requests for personal time off (PTO) and sick leave according to agency policy and program coverage needs.
3. Schedules and performs monthly staff meetings to update department on any changes, issues or recommendations.
4. Assists the DON to enforce compliance with JCAHO, state licensing and out of state contract standards.
5. Coordinates with DON to develop/implement staff recruitment and retention strategies through HRD.
6. Evaluating performance of the department and coordinating with the DON to implement improvements
7. Takes call including, but not limited to, overnight & on weekends

Successful completion of accredited School of Nursing
RN licensure in Arkansas in good standing
3 years clinical nursing experience
2 years supervisory experience
Valid Arkansas driver’s license with driving record acceptable to insurance carrier
