The Assistant Director of Operations is a key member of the hotel’s operations leadership team, with primary responsibility for supporting event, banquet, and food and beverage operations. This position reports to the Director of Events and Event Services and provides direct leadership for Event Services while partnering closely with Stewarding, Culinary, Event Setup, and other hotel departments to ensure seamless execution of high-volume events and daily hotel operations.
This leader will be responsible for short- and long-term planning, colleague development, operational execution, guest satisfaction, financial performance, and Hyatt brand standards within assigned areas. The ideal candidate will bring food and beverage/event operations experience along with a solid understanding of rooms operations, including Front Office and Housekeeping, in order to support overall hotel leadership, manager-on-duty coverage, and cross-functional operational needs.
This role requires a collaborative, hands-on leader who can balance service, financial discipline, colleague engagement, and operational excellence in a large, complex hotel environment. As the hotel’s leadership structure evolves, this position may also support additional food and beverage and guest experience functions.
Duties\:
- Provide leadership, direction, and support for Banquets and assigned operational departments.
- Partner closely with Stewarding and Culinary leadership to ensure successful event execution, cleanliness standards, equipment readiness, and colleague productivity.
- Support the Director of Events and Event Services in the planning and execution of large events, high-volume occupancy periods, VIP programs, and special operational needs.
- Ensure all assigned operations are conducted in accordance with Hyatt policies, procedures, service standards, safety standards, and brand expectations.
- Coach, counsel, train, and develop managers, supervisors, and hourly colleagues to reflect Hyatt service standards and leadership expectations.
- Monitor guest satisfaction, event feedback, colleague engagement, and operational performance; implement action plans to improve results.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels based on business volume, guest needs, event requirements, and approved labor guidelines.
- Review schedules, payroll, forecasts, inventory, supplies, and operating expenses for assigned areas.
- Participate in budget planning, financial reviews, labor management, and expense control.
- Develop and implement procedures that improve service, efficiency, colleague engagement, and guest satisfaction.
- Maintain strong communication and coordination between Event Services, Stewarding, Culinary, Event Setup , Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Security, and other hotel departments.
- Participate in the Manager on Duty program, including weekend, evening, holiday, and high-occupancy coverage as needed.
- Support rooms leaders and overall hotel operations during MOD shifts or periods of elevated business demand.
- Assist with special projects, operational initiatives, capital planning, equipment needs, and process improvements.
- Ensure proper inventory controls, equipment care, supply ordering, and departmental organization.
- Respond to guest and colleague opportunities with professionalism, urgency, and sound judgment.
This position has a salary compensation ranging from $88,900 - $142,100. The final offer will be based on experience and budget, which currently ranges from $98,000 to $108,000.
