During your tenure as an Assistant Director in VBM - Valuations, you will demonstrate and develop your capabilities in the following areas:

  • Review outputs of financial analyses to guide client’s management to make decisions with confidence
  • Develop new and innovative approaches to analyzing data to help team draw meaningful conclusions; champion the use of advanced visualization to extract insights from a data set and present findings in a clear, logical manner to client executives
  • Resolve escalated scope, timeline, or resourcing issues and shape team’s priorities to address most urgent and relevant tasks
  • Manage engagement financials to ensure proper invoicing, staff billing, and engagement profitability
  • Understand the larger ecosystem within which the client operates; use to facilitate discussions about potential solutions to the client’s most pressing deal issues
  • Understand drivers of growth, profitability and cash flow as well as a client’s financial statements and key performance measures
  • Identify relevant business trends, economic forces, and industry practices and confidently discuss with the client
  • Build personal brand and support eminence building in chosen industry/sector
  • Set direction regarding the development and compliance of standards, guidelines and service agreements
  • Combine expertise in one stage of a transaction with a deep understanding of a particular industry/sector and advise on integration points and critical focus areas
  • Ensure the accuracy of the models, valuation analyses, reports, and audit support documentation
  • Review client’s existing financial model to ensure reliability by testing its mathematical accuracy, confirming that its logic is consistent with the commercial drivers of the business, and reviewing the reasonableness of the input assumptions
  • Use qualitative and quantitative analysis to deliver insights on goodwill implications in a transaction

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years or more experience in financial consulting (Financial Advisory/Corporate Finance) or Investment Banking/Merchant Banking, preferably in Corporate Finance Department with experience in areas such as business valuations, mergers & acquisitions, due diligence, financial modeling and restructuring, raising debt or equity
  • Demonstrated ability to manage people and plan components of engagements along with ensuring deliverables meet work plan specifications and deadlines
