Assistant EHS Manager
The Assistant EHS Manager supports the EHS Manager in directing all environmental, health, and safety activities at the Quanta Nashville site. The role assists in maintaining the site's ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, ISO 14064, and RBA management systems, ensures compliance with OSHA/TOSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements, and supervises the daily work of the EHS staff. This position leads incident investigation and corrective action, owns regulatory reporting and permitting, and acts as site EHS lead in the absence of the EHS Manager.
Essential Functions:

Assist the EHS Manager in planning, directing, and promoting all environmental, health, and safety activities at the site.

Supervise the daily work of EHS staff, including assigning priorities, reviewing work quality, coaching and development, and providing input on hiring and performance.

Serve as acting site EHS lead in the absence of the EHS Manager.

Maintain ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, and ISO 14064 management systems and site certifications; support RBA certification, surveillance, and customer audits.

Interpret and apply OSHA/TOSHA, EPA, DOT, and customer-specific requirements; lead internal compliance assessments and close resulting corrective actions.

Manage regulatory reporting and permitting for air emissions, hazardous materials, storm water, waste discharge, and waste streams.

Lead investigations of injuries, near misses, and environmental events using formal root cause methods, and drive countermeasures to completion.

Partner with Human Resources and the workers' compensation carrier on injury case management, return to work, and industrial hygiene matters.

Lead the plant safety committee and drive site targets for recordable and lost time incident reduction.

Direct hazard identification and risk assessment (HIRA), ergonomic assessments, and occupational exposure monitoring for chemical, noise, heat, and light.

Review new equipment, chemicals, processes, and contractors for EHS compliance prior to introduction.

Own core safety programs including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, hazard communication, SDS management, PPE, and emergency response.

Develop, deliver, and track EHS training, and coordinate delivery with Human Resources and department leadership.

Prepare and present EHS documentation, metrics, and reports for management review, customer audits, and regulatory agencies.

Coordinate emergency response planning, drills, fire and alarm system testing, and spill prevention and control.

Manage EHS vendors and third-party service providers, including sampling, testing, and monitoring services.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Chemistry, or a related field required.

Minimum 5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment; prior supervisory or team lead experience required.

Working knowledge of OSHA/TOSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Experience maintaining ISO 14001/45001/50001/14064 and RBA management systems.

Demonstrated experience leading incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action.

Professional certification such as CSP, ASP, CHMM, or equivalent preferred.

Must be able to be on call for emergency response as needed.

This is a FULLY ONSITE position; must be able to report onsite daily.

Physical Requirements:

Work is performed in both office and manufacturing environments; temperatures are controlled but can occasionally be warmer or colder than typical office settings.

Ability to wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.

Ability to distinguish between colors.

Ability to bend, stoop, stand/sit for prolonged periods, move about production and warehouse facilities.
