Assistant Engineer
Summary
Creates and revises tower crane engineering drawings, safety documents, and regulatory submissions while coordinating with engineers, contractors, and authorities in Singapore’s construction sector.
- Prepare technical drawings for tower crane foundations, tie-backs, crane layouts, elevations and jacking sequences.
- Revise drawings according to PE, client and site requirements.
- Assist with lifting plans for tower crane erection, dismantling, jacking and tie-back installation.
- Coordinate PE designs, calculations, endorsements and supporting documents.
- Prepare and submit documents to HDB, MOM, BCA, LTA, CAAS and RSAF.
- Prepare HDB presentations, material lists, erection and dismantling checklists, and servicing reports.
- Monitor the validity and renewal of LM certificates, authority approvals, height clearances and other certificates.
- Prepare safety documents, including Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), Fall Prevention Plans (FPP) and Method Statements.
- Ensure compliance with the main contractor’s Environmental, Health and Safety requirements.
- Arrange Safety Induction Courses (SIC) for employees, suppliers and erector teams.
- Create and manage online Permit-to-Work applications using systems such as Novade and Hubble.
- Ensure all permits and safety documents are approved before work starts.
- Coordinate with Professional Engineers, main contractors, suppliers, erector teams and site personnel.
- Maintain updated registers, certificates, drawings, checklists, reports and submission records.
- Monitor expiry dates and arrange the renewal of certificates, permits and approvals.
- Assist with accident reporting, safety audits, bizSAFE renewal and other regulatory matters.
- Update the project calendar and follow up on pending engineering and safety submissions.
- Provide general drafting, engineering documentation and administrative support for tower crane projects.
Requirements
- Diploma or relevant qualification in Engineering, Drafting, Workplace Safety and Health, or a related field.
- Experience in construction, tower crane drafting or safety documentation is preferred.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Basic knowledge of HDB, MOM, BCA, LTA, CAAS and RSAF submission requirements is an advantage.
- Able to prepare and revise technical drawings and safety documents.
- Good communication, coordination and document-control skills.
