Assistant Engineer (Process)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support daily semiconductor fabrication (Fab) process activities for production and engineering wafers.
- Operate and monitor Fab process and metrology equipment, ensuring compliance with process specifications.
- Perform wafer disposition and support engineering experiments (DOE) and process characterization.
- Operate Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM/XSEM) for process analysis, NPI activities, and customer failure analysis (RMA).
- Generate process characterization and failure analysis reports with findings and recommendations.
- Monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC), investigate out-of-control/out-of-specification conditions, and support root cause analysis.
- Perform first-level troubleshooting and basic maintenance of process and SEM equipment.
- Update process documentation, participate in daily handover meetings, and support continuous process improvements.
Requirements
- Diploma in Optoelectronics, Photonics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of semiconductor fabrication processes, metrology, SPC, and DOE is an advantage.
- Experience operating SEM/XSEM or other characterization equipment will be an added advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- 1–3 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing or wafer fabrication is preferred.
