Assistant Engineer (Tower Crane Electrical Maintenance)

Job Duties

  • Plan, coordinator and oversee the erection, installation, servicing, jacking and dismantling of tower cranes at construction site.
  • Supervise and participate in tower crane erection and installation activities, ensuring all works are carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved procedures, risk assessments and manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Carry out routine electrical inspection, preventive maintenance, servicing and troubleshooting of tower cranes and related electrical systems and equipment.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair works with tower crane operators, mechanics, site personnel and external contractor during maintenance and repair works.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to site teams and customers on tower crane electrical and operational issues.
  • Attend to and follow up on customer complaints and service requests, investigate technical issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Assist with statutory inspections, testing, certification and documentation relating to tower crane equipment where required.
  • Provide technical guidance, on-the-job training and coaching to workers on tower crane electrical systems, maintenance procedures, safe work practices and troubleshooting.
  • Perform any other duties and technical assignments as assigned by the management.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years’ of hands-on experience in tower crane electrical maintenance and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC and variable frequency driver (VFD/inverter) control systems.
  • Willingness and ability to perform high-altitude work.
  • Hardworking, reliable, and able to work under demanding conditions.
  • Class 3 driving licence preferred.
