Assistant Engineering Manager

ABOUT YOUR ROLE

You will support the Engineering Manager in overseeing daily operations, leading technical teams, managing project schedules and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Supervise shift Technicians and delegating tasks

• Oversee preventive and reactive maintenance schedules for the distribution center, facilities, utilities, production equipment and emergency repairs.

• Assist in planning Engineering projects, managing capital expenditures, coordinating contractor bids, and monitoring departmental expenses and spare-parts inventory.

• Ensure full adherence to local health and safety legislation, fire-safety protocols, building codes, and environmental or energy standards.

• Act as a bridge between technical teams and top management, coordinating workflows with operations, finance, and external vendors

• Conduct the training for the team members, implementing new systems and maintaining technical documentation.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant technical or engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee technical projects from planning through completion.

• Lead and Monitor the performance, maintenance, and reliability of equipment, systems, and technical infrastructure.

• Identify operational issues and implement effective technical solutions to improve efficiency.

• Strong knowledge of technical operations, project management, and quality management systems.

• Excellent leadership, planning, and organisational skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

• Added knowledge would be advantage: Able to handle software skills such as AUTOCAD (Perform drawings), PLC (accessing PLC/ HMI device) and exposure to power management software (Energy related)
