Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled, motivated Assistant Engineering Manager to join our team at a fast-paced, 178-room historic hotel. This is a hands-on role with real responsibility in a building that is always alive with guests, activity, and character.You will work closely alongside our Maintenance Manager, who brings over 20 years of experience in the role and is deeply knowledgeable about the building. Key Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, and exterior spaces
Troubleshoot and address issues related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general building systems
Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests to support a high-quality guest experience
Work closely with the Maintenance Manager on preventive maintenance programs and larger projects
Support the care and preservation of a historic building, following best practices and attention to detail
Communicate effectively with Front Desk, Housekeeping, and other departments to ensure seamless operations
Represent the Maintenance Department with professionalism, teamwork, and pride

What We’re Looking For

Previous maintenance experience in a hotel, residential, or commercial setting preferred
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment
Willingness to learn and grow, especially in a historic property with unique systems
A team-first mindset and comfort working across departments
Professional demeanor and a service-oriented attitude
Flexibility with schedule as hotel operations require
