Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to join a prestigious luxury hotel in the KZN Midlands.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional who is passionate about luxury service, food and beverage operations and guest satisfaction. The successful candidate will work closely with the F&B management team to ensure smooth daily operations and consistently high service standards across the property's dining and beverage outlets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the overall management of the hotel's Food & Beverage operations.
  • Support the F&B Manager in ensuring smooth and efficient daily service.
  • Supervise and motivate F&B staff, ensuring professional service standards are consistently maintained.
  • Assist with staff scheduling, training and performance management.
  • Ensure excellent guest service and respond professionally to guest feedback and requests.
  • Monitor restaurant and beverage operations during service periods.
  • Ensure all outlets are presented to the required luxury standards.
  • Assist with stock control, ordering and inventory management.
  • Monitor wastage, portion control and operational costs.
  • Assist with maintaining departmental budgets and achieving revenue targets.
  • Ensure all food safety, hygiene and health and safety standards are upheld.
  • Work closely with the kitchen and other hotel departments to ensure seamless service.
  • Assist with functions, conferences and special events when required.
  • Lead by example and maintain a professional and positive working environment.
  • Step into the F&B Manager's role when required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in an Assistant F&B Manager, F&B Supervisor or similar management position.
  • Experience within a luxury hotel, lodge or high-end hospitality environment is highly advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant and beverage operations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong understanding of guest service and luxury hospitality standards.
  • Good knowledge of stock control, cost management and F&B administration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy hospitality environment.
  • A hands-on approach and willingness to lead from the floor.
  • Passion for food, beverage and delivering memorable guest experiences.
  • Professional appearance and excellent attention to detail.
