The Assistant Facility Security Officer performs a range of industrial security tasks, including safeguarding classified information and materials, controlling access to secured areas, processing personnel security documentation, monitoring physical security measures, ensuring compliance with applicable security regulations and contractual requirements through inspection and remediation, and executing classified mailings. The Assistant Facility Security Officer also develops and executes employee and subcontractor security training, prepares and uses security accountability and tracking tools, and contributes to a security-focused corporate culture.
Duties and Responsibilities / Essential Functions
- Safeguard classified information and materials by ensuring classified mailings and other classified materials are received, handled, stored, transferred, and protected in accordance with applicable security requirements.
- Maintain inventory of classified materials, including accurate inventory records.
- Review Standard Form 86 (SF-86) personnel security questionnaires, ensuring information is adequate and complete, in accordance with applicable security clearance requirements and established procedures.
- Verify employee, contractor, and visitor credentials and authorizations, including need-to-know, and maintain appropriate access controls for classified materials and secured areas.
- Conduct secure mailings and other transmissions of classified information to customers and subcontractors.
- Submit and manage visit authorizations for cleared employees travelling to customer or business partner sites (VARs, VALs, etc.).
- Identify, investigate, document, and promptly report security violations, discrepancies, potential compromises, incidents, and unusual conditions involving classified materials, facility access, and security procedures.
- Monitor compliance with facility security policies and report violations or vulnerabilities to the appropriate supervisor.
- Assist with maintaining keys, access badges, security equipment, and other security-related assets.
- Assist with investigations involving security breaches, unauthorized access, property loss, workplace incidents, or other facility concerns.
- Track industrial security training for cleared employees.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive security information, incident reports, and facility-related information.
- Execute other administrative business tasks in accordance with business needs.

Skills and Specifications
- Working knowledge of the NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117), SEADs, Intelligence Community (IC) industrial security guidance, and FAR and DFARS clauses relevant to industrial security.
- Proficiency in using DISS, NISS, NCAISS, NBIS, eApp and other federal systems relevant to industrial security.
- Expertise in adequacy and completeness optimization of SF 86 submissions.
- Proficiency in handling, safeguarding, and destroying classified information.
- High level of organization and attention to detail, with a demonstrable ability to efficiently manage multiple security tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including SharePoint.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not require the supervision of direct reports.
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office using standard office equipment, in warehouses, and on construction sites using standard tools of the trade.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to work for prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Lifting of up to 25 lbs. may occur.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, on-site, salaried, position. Standard days and hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during standard extended business hours. The ability and willingness to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends as needed for business purposes is required.
DGS will pay a one-time, completely discretionary relocation incentive of $10,000.00 for a qualified applicant to relocate to Lansdale, PA for daily work at the DGS location there. The incentive will be payable once a qualified and selected candidate provides evidence of relocation and is contingent (vests) upon satisfactory completion of one year of misconduct-free employment, otherwise repayment of the incentive is required. Any offer of employment to a candidate not located in the Lansdale, PA aera is contingent upon relocation to the vicinity of Lansdale, PA.
Travel
Occasional travel to other company facilities is required.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2+ years of experience performing industrial security tasks on IC or DoD programs.
- Completion of CDSE FSO curricula preferred.
Work Authorization / Security Clearance
- Must have and maintain a Top Secret federal security clearance with eligibility for SCI.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS).
- Must successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check.
- Must successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) drug test and motor vehicle record review.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license compliant with REAL ID requirements.
