Aurora Dairies are currently seeking an Assistant Farm Manager for a dairy farm in Mount Schank, located 20 minutes from Mt Gambier in Southeast South Australia. The farm is approximately 451ha in total area.
The farm is currently milking 1060 cows, through a 50 bail fully automated rotary shed. This farm is split calving starting in February and mid July.
Accommodation is available and there could be opportunities for employment for your partner on one of our nearby farms, if required.

This role will include tasks the areas of:
- Supporting the farm manager as second in charge.
- Driving and upholding Animal Health and Safe Operating Procedures.
- Herd management and nutrition, including calving, hospital herd care, AI/mating planning, dairy shed work and more.
- Irrigation and pasture management.
- Supervising staff.
- Machinery operation.
- Repairs and maintenance.
The desired skills and experience for this opportunity are:
- Extensive dairy industry experience is required for this management role.
- Tertiary qualification(s) in Agriculture or a related field is desired.
- Committed to ensuring a safe workplace.
- Reliable and punctual and ability to take responsibility.
- Good work ethic and positive attitude.
- Leadership skills and team player.
