Assistant Finance Manager
Job Description
· Manage and oversee a portfolio of outsourced accounting, finance, tax and corporate secretarial clients.
· Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and build strong, long-term professional relationships.
· Lead client engagements independently ensuring timely delivery of quality services.
· Supervise, guide and review the work performed by Account Associates and other finance team members.
· Allocate work among team members, monitor progress, and ensure engagements are completed within agreed timelines.
· Review full sets of accounts, management accounts, GST returns, financial statements and other deliverables prepared by the team.
· Handle complex accounting matters, technical accounting issues, group consolidations and financial reporting engagements.
· Provide technical guidance to team members on accounting standards, tax, GST and corporate compliance matters.
· Coordinate with clients, auditors, tax agents, corporate secretarial team and regulatory authorities where necessary.
· Review and ensure compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), GST regulations, Companies Act and other relevant statutory requirements.
· Monitor engagement budgets, project timelines and resource planning to ensure efficient service delivery.
· Identify opportunities to improve clients' finance processes, internal controls and operational efficiency.
· Coach, mentor and develop junior team members through on-the-job guidance and training.
· Review and improve existing work processes, standard operating procedures and internal controls.
· Participate in business development initiatives, including identifying opportunities to provide additional professional services to existing clients.
· Keep abreast of changes in accounting standards, tax legislation and regulatory requirements.
· Perform any other duties and special projects assigned by the Partner or Director.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Accountancy, Finance, ACCA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in outsourced accounting, finance, audit or professional services environment.
- Previous experience supervising or leading a team will be highly advantageous.
- Strong technical knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), GST, Companies Act and corporate compliance requirements.
- Experience in handling full sets of accounts, management reporting, statutory financial statements and group consolidations.
- Experience managing a portfolio of clients independently.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Strong client relationship management and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision while leading a team effectively.
- Strong leadership, coaching and people management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive, resourceful, organised and committed to delivering high-quality client service.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and accounting software.
- Familiarity with cloud accounting systems (such as Xero, QuickBooks, AutoCount or similar) will be an advantage.
- External audit experience will be an added advantage.
- Candidates with corporate secretarial or tax exposure will have an added advantage.
