Assistant Food and Beverage Manager
Assistant Food & Beverage Manager | Hospitality Leader with a Passion for Beverage
Love the buzz of a busy bar? Passionate about creating memorable guest experiences? Ready to take the next step in your hospitality leadership career?
At Vibe Hotel Darling Harbour, we're looking for an energetic and hands-on Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to help lead our vibrant food and beverage operation. This is an exciting opportunity for an emerging hospitality leader with a strong background in bars, beverages, cocktails and team leadership to make their mark in one of Sydney's most dynamic hotel environments.
Working alongside the Food & Beverage Manager, you'll play a key role in leading day-to-day operations across our restaurant, bar, conferencing and events spaces. You'll be the type of leader who isn't afraid to jump behind the bar during a busy service, coach team members on wine pairings, mix a cocktail when needed, and ensure every guest leaves wanting to come back.
About the Role
As Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, you'll be responsible for supporting the successful operation of all F&B outlets, while driving service excellence, team engagement and commercial performance.
You'll:
Lead and inspire a team of F&B Attendants, Bartenders, Baristas and Supervisors.
Take ownership of the day-to-day operation of our bar, restaurant and conferencing spaces.
Deliver exceptional guest experiences and resolve guest concerns with confidence and professionalism.
Coach and develop team members to achieve outstanding service standards.
Drive beverage sales through your knowledge of cocktails, wine, spirits and current beverage trends.
Maintain high standards of presentation, service execution and venue ambiance.
Assist with rostering, recruitment, training and performance management.
Support inventory control, stocktakes, ordering and cost management.
Ensure compliance with RSA, food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.
Work closely with Sales, Front Office and Kitchen teams to deliver seamless conferences, events and guest experiences.
About You
You're a hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves being on the floor leading from the front.
You'll bring:
Previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Bar Manager, Restaurant Manager or Food & Beverage Supervisor ready to step up.
Strong beverage and bar expertise, including wine, spirits, cocktails and premium guest service.
Experience leading teams within hotels, restaurants, bars or premium hospitality venues.
A hands-on leadership style and genuine passion for developing people.
Excellent communication (written, verbal and listening) and relationship-building skills.
Commercial awareness with experience managing labour, stock and beverage costs.
Current RSA certification and Food Safety qualifications.
The flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Unrestricted Australian working rights with no sponsorship requirement
