Assistant General Manager
Position Summary
The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing daily operations, staff management, and business performance. This role ensures operational excellence, team productivity, and a high-quality customer experience while helping drive revenue growth and organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Business Management
- Assist in managing daily operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance with company standards
- Help implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices
- Monitor KPIs, budgets, inventory, and cost controls
- Support scheduling, payroll oversight, and resource planning
Leadership & Team Management
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and development of team members
- Supervise staff performance, provide coaching, and address performance issues
- Foster a positive, accountable, and results-driven work culture
- Act as manager-on-duty in the General Manager’s absence
Customer Experience
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service excellence
- Address customer concerns or escalations professionally and promptly
- Help maintain brand standards and customer-facing environments
Financial & Administrative Support
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Help track sales performance and identify opportunities for growth
- Ensure compliance with safety, labor, and regulatory requirements
Strategic Support
- Collaborate with the General Manager on business planning and goal setting
- Support execution of company initiatives, promotions, and process improvements
- Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (preferred)
- 2–5 years of supervisory or management experience (industry-dependent)
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Financial literacy and experience with performance metrics
- Proficiency with scheduling, POS, or operational management systems (industry-specific)
