ASSISTANT, HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SERVICES

SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Reports to the HOS and managers on medical records management, training and consultation, and recommendations about future planning and development of resources. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure optimum services deliverance.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensure effective and efficient running of HIMS Services.
2. Assisting HIMS Officer on smooth running of HIMS Services management.
3. Documentation of information in patient’s record flow.
4. Participate in education programs, conferences, internal & external courses.
5. Discuss with team members on daily routine work.
6. Ensure maintain strict standard of confidentiality and safekeeping of patient’s information all the time.
7. Ensure effective implementation of processing claims, medical reports and specialist reports which requested by companies.
8. Ensure the privacy, safety and security of records and compliance of PHFS Act 1998 & Regulations 2006 and PDPA Act 2010.
9. Adopt the policies and procedures of ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007, Malaysian Hospital Accreditation Standards.
10. Other duties which instructed by the HOS and the management.
11. Relieving Secretary of the Healthcare Informatics Management Committee and any other committees as appointed by the Management from time to time

OSH Act and Regulation 1994
1. Responsible and accountable to carry out duties as an employee as stipulated in Occupational Safety & Health Act and Regulation 1994.
2. To take reasonable care and work for the safety of him/herself and team members.
3. To co-operate with the employer or any other person in the discharge of any duty.
4. To comply with any instruction or measure on OSH Act & Regulation 1994.

Patient Safety Goal
1. Ensure compliance of International Patient Safety Goals as safety improvement measures as recommended by Word Alliance for patient Safety (1994)


Patient & Family’s Rights
1. Ensure that policies on Patient and Family’s Right are addressed at all times.


Privacy, Safety and Security of Records
1. To review and adopt internal personal data protection policies and practices, to comply with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Minimum :
1. SPM / STPM
2. Possess positive attitude
3. Good written and communication skill in Bahasa Malaysia & English
4. IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft Windows

Preferred:
1. HIMS Certificate
2. ICD-10 Coder Certificate
3. Good in managing skills
4. Proficiency in English
5. Computer literate
6. Working experience in HIM Services or with medical background will be an added advantage
7. Pleasant and presentable disposition is an advantage & also able to work independently
8. Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
