The Price Center is seeking a dedicated Assistant House Manager to support daily operations in our residential program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role works closely with the House Manager to promote a safe, respectful, person-centered home environment while supporting residents, staff, and program needs.

The Price Center is a mission-driven organization serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through residential and community-based services in Newton and Needham. We help residents build independence, develop skills, and participate meaningfully in daily life.

Summary:

The Assistant House Manager helps oversee staff support, resident care, documentation, health and safety needs, household routines, and communication with families, guardians, providers, and the residential team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or five years of relevant experience in human services, intellectual/developmental disabilities, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to lift and support an individual’s body weight with assistance from another employee, as needed.
  • Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and willingness to drive an agency vehicle.
  • Must meet Massachusetts CORI background check requirements.
  • Current MAP Certification and First Aid certification are required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily guidance, coaching, and support to Direct Support Professionals.
  • Support individualized service plans, household routines, staff scheduling, onboarding, and training.
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, independence-building, budgeting, appointments, and health-related needs.
  • Maintain timely documentation and professional communication with families, guardians, providers, and community partners.
  • Conduct and document safety drills and help maintain a safe, organized home environment.
  • Plan and support educational, recreational, and community activities that promote independence, inclusion, and personal choice.
