Assistant I, GKIM- (US Only)

Job Summary

Working under supervision of the Global Knowledge Information Management (GKIM) department, the Intern, GKIM, will collect, preserve, and organize CRS archives, ensuring that important documents, photos, videos, digital files, and other records remain available for CRS, Catholic University and scholars.

Roles and Key Responsibilities

  • Identify valuable records that should be preserved long term.
  • Organize and catalog materials so they can be easily found and used.
  • Protect and preserve records, both physical and digital, from damage or loss.
  • Create metadata and descriptions that allow researchers and the public to search and retrieve information.
  • Help researchers, staff, and the public access information while ensuring records are handled appropriately.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience with typing/word processing, data entry into online databases and forms, and working with various office equipment.
  • Experience in MS Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) and information management systems.

Required Languages: Fluency in English.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No

Basic Qualifications

  • College classes in Archiving.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant administrative support experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree, Certificate or courses in archiving.
