Assistant IT Manager / Software Developer (at the rank of IT Officer / IT Technician) in the Department of Emergency Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 537140) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a recognised Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline, and a minimum of 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience in the IT industry. Experience in web applications, system maintenance/ development that would automate administrative work processes and enhance workflow within the context of an educational institution would be an advantage. Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese. Fresh graduates who are highly motivated may also be considered for appointment at IT Technician rank.

Applicants should have a strong sense of responsibility with good interpersonal skills, and be able to work well with our dynamic Teaching and Learning Team under a fast-paced environment. They should possess profound knowledge in Frontend programming, such as React, Typescript, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and Backend Programming, such as Node.js and be proficient in relational databases like MySQL, Postgres DB, SQL Server, and Oracle. They should also have knowledge of DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and Git version control. Those with higher qualifications and/or richer experience may be considered for appointment as IT Officer.

The appointees will be responsible for development, maintenance and enhancement of applications / systems for community health / teaching and learning as well as IT support for different systems and events. On-the-job training will be provided. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and/or skills test.
