The Win Post Acute is a 134-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center dedicated to providing exceptional post-acute and long-term care services. We are seeking a dependable, organized, and motivated Assistant Kitchen Manager to support our Dietary Services Department in delivering nutritious, high-quality meals while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and resident satisfaction.


As the Assistant Kitchen Manager, you will work closely with the Dietary Manager to oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, supervise dietary staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and help create a positive dining experience for our residents.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in supervising the daily operations of the Dietary Department.
  • Support the Dietary Manager in scheduling, training, coaching, and evaluating dietary staff.
  • Ensure meals are prepared and served according to physician orders, therapeutic diets, and resident preferences.
  • Maintain compliance with CDPH, CMS, OSHA, and local health department regulations.
  • Monitor food quality, portion control, presentation, and meal service.
  • Assist with inventory management, food ordering, receiving deliveries, and controlling food costs.
  • Ensure proper food storage, sanitation, and infection prevention practices.
  • Maintain accurate temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and kitchen documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with nursing, therapy, and interdisciplinary teams to meet residents' nutritional needs.
  • Assist with special events, holiday meals, and resident satisfaction initiatives.
  • Step into leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Dietary Manager.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in healthcare, skilled nursing, hospital, or institutional food service preferred.
  • Supervisory or lead kitchen experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets, food safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Current Food Safety Manager Certification (ServSafe or equivalent), or ability to obtain after hire.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Work schedule

  • Weekend availability

Pay: Starting at $70,000.00 per year
