Assistant M&E Engineer
Summary
Oversee and coordinate mechanical and electrical (M&E) installation work on construction sites, ensuring compliance with plans, quality standards, and schedules while liaising with teams and suppliers.
Project Coordination
- Assist in planning and coordinating M&E works on construction sites.
- Monitor work progress and ensure compliance with project schedules.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Attend site meetings and prepare meeting minutes where required.
- Assist in resolving technical and site coordination issues.
Site Supervision
- Supervise daily M&E installation works.
- Ensure works are carried out according to approved shop drawings and method statements.
- Monitor workmanship and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and report site progress.
Technical Support
- Review M&E drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Assist in preparing shop drawings, as-built drawings, and material submissions.
- Coordinate with drafting teams for drawing revisions.
- Support design coordination between architectural, structural, and M&E disciplines.
Planning & Procurement
- Assist in material take-offs and quantity verification.
- Prepare requests for quotations (RFQs) and procurement schedules.
- Coordinate delivery of materials and equipment to site.
- Monitor material usage to minimise wastage.
Testing & Commissioning
- Assist in inspection, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
- Coordinate with relevant authorities and utility providers where required.
- Prepare testing reports and commissioning records.
Documentation
- Maintain project documentation and records.
- Assist in preparing progress claims and variation orders.
- Compile operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals upon project completion.
Other Duties
- Support the Project Manager in overall project execution.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
- Candidates with 1–3 years of relevant construction or M&E experience will have an advantage.
- Experience in commercial, institutional, residential, or A&A projects is preferred.
Technical Knowledge
- Basic knowledge of M&E systems including: Electrical installation, ACMV systems, Fire Protection Systems, Plumbing & Sanitary Systems, ELV Systems
- Familiar with Singapore Codes of Practice and statutory requirements.
- Ability to interpret construction and M&E drawings.
Software Skills
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- AutoCAD
- Microsoft Project (preferred)
- BIM/Revit knowledge is an advantage
