Assistant Manager, Capital Projects

The Assistant Manager, Capital Projects supports the delivery of capital projects and asset initiatives by coordinating procurement activities, managing documentation, administering financial processes, and ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of capital expenditures. The role works closely with the Property Manager (Asset Management/Capital Projects) and Corporate Accounting to ensure projects are executed efficiently, transparently, and in compliance with internal controls and governance requirements. This role is based in the Coast Hotels Corporate Office in Vancouver, BC.
What you will do:
Support our business:
Prepares project schedules
Runs competitive procurement processes for capital projects
Prepares responses to questions and distributes answers
Requests/Obtains a minimum of 2 quotes per proposal
Prepares overall comparison sheets including pricing, technical specifications and timelines
Participates in evaluations and debrief meetings
Prepares project closing documentation including AFE, invoices, photos, and reporting
Participates in bi-weekly capital project review meetings
Prepares monthly capital project reports
Reviews and files capital project documentation
Support our operations:
Attends site visits as required
Creates purchase orders based on approved documentation
Issues purchase orders to suppliers and vendors
Receives, reconciles and processes invoices through Workday

What you will bring:
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting capital projects or procurement
Strong organizational, documentation, and financial reconciliation skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to adapt and learn new technologies
Advanced communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
Advanced level in the use of MS Office Suite
Experience with Workday or other financial software
