Assistant Manager - Cell Production
Production Operations Management
- Ensure achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly production plans for solar cell manufacturing lines.
- Monitor and control production parameters to ensure stable process performance and optimum output.
- Drive adherence to production schedules while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and material resources.
- Lead shift-wise production activities and address operational bottlenecks.
Process Control & Yield Improvement
- Monitor critical process parameters across cell manufacturing processes such as:
- Texturing
- Diffusion
- PECVD
- Laser Processing
- Screen Printing
- Firing
- Testing & Sorting
- Analyze process deviations and implement corrective actions.
- Support continuous yield improvement and defect reduction initiatives.
- Lead root cause analysis for quality and process issues using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Quality Management
- Ensure compliance with established quality standards and SOPs.
- Monitor key manufacturing KPIs including:
- Yield %
- OEE
- Productivity
- Line Efficiency
- Defect Rate
- Scrap Rate
- Coordinate with Quality team for containment and corrective actions.
- Drive first-time-right manufacturing culture.
Team Management
- Lead and develop production supervisors, engineers, and operators.
- Ensure proper manpower deployment and shift management.
- Conduct skill development and training programs for shop-floor personnel.
- Drive employee engagement and performance management initiatives.
Safety, Environment & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with EHS standards and statutory requirements.
- Promote a zero-accident culture across production operations.
- Ensure implementation of 5S, Kaizen, and TPM practices.
- Participate in safety audits and closure of observations within timelines.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify productivity improvement opportunities through automation and process optimization.
- Lead cost reduction initiatives related to consumables, utilities, and operational losses.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) practices.
- Support new product introductions and technology upgrades.
- B.E./B.Tech in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Production Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- MBA/PGDM in Operations Management preferred.
Experience
- 4–6 years of experience in manufacturing operations.
- Minimum 4–6 years of experience in Solar Cell Manufacturing.
- Experience in advanced cell technologies such as:
- TOPCon
- PERC
- HJT (preferred)
- Exposure to high-volume automated manufacturing environments
